just found!!!! 1952-S Cent with no T at the end of Trust. Is this an error?

I just found a 1952-S cent that grades about AU and upon closer examination I see that it says In God We Trus instead of Trust. Is this normal? Im sure it is some kind of an error.

  • Take a look at the D in "God" and then the end of Trust there is no 'T" if you need i can scan in closer to these areas.

Cool! - Filled die? Never seen one of these, but no marks that it was scraped off.

If it's worth as much as $10, I'd say that's pretty cool. image

It's a filled die - back when it was uncirculated the surface would have been slightly different in that area. The D of GOD is normal, the lower half of the D typically has a low relief on 1950-1957 cents.

Value is subjective, there is no guide for these. I would say $2-$5 to someone really interested, but it is a common error and happens quite frequently, although I must say not usually with this clean a result. Typically there are other weak areas on these, and yours doesn't show any.

Sounds like the same error as the 1922 no mint mark. Too bad it's not worth the same amount.

This looks an example of the green booger variety of 1952.

Still, even with the fill, it is a cool coin to have.
