Without looking it up, it sounds a little high, but it is a nice coin and I can understand you paying that for it.

    That's not "Fine"

Better grade ... Note King's eye. Note reverse. Also rubbish scans - definitely better than F-12

Nice coin and it does appear better than the assigned grade.

A decent example. I am not prepared to say it is undergraded without looking at the coin. The Charles II coinage can come weakly struck, especially in the center area and it is not uncommon to find that the hair detail is not fully defined. By strict British standards, it probably is not above a good fine. Nonetheless, it is quality for the grade which brings a premium. Could it go VF20 by US standards? Its possible, depending upon originality and the quality of detail remaining in the portrait outside the area of the center.

Lloyd was quick to point out the eye detail and that goes to the whole issue of the weakness in the strike, which on this side of the pond, may not prevent a higher grade. I think you did fine and I think you will be pleased with the coin. Remember that these can get very expensive in higher grades.
