Anyone deal with Dave & Adam's?

Thinking about preordering a case of the Cracker Jack and D&A is one of two sources that I'm considering. Anyone dealt with them on preorders? Are they reliable? No last minute price changes once released? If I order a case will they send me a factory sealed case or just loose boxes?

I have bought and sold to these guys and I have not had a problem. I understand others have had problems with Dave & Adam.

    Honor & Deliver?

I beg to differ. These guys are dishonorable & don't deliver.
They end auctions early if their traget price is not met. Can't stand them. I Never bid on their stuff, no matter how much I want or need it.
I'm sure some other disgruntles will check in on this one.

Yep, count me in on not being a fan of Dave and Adams also. First off, I bought an early eighties Topps vending box from them last fall, which was advertised as unsearched, mint cards, but vg box. No problem. I get the box, and sure enough, it was a searched box. 500 cards, not one single semi-star even, and no stars or rookies at all (and there were at least 30-40 valuable cards in this year Topps, I didn't get 1 out of 500!). You could tell the vending pattern was off before the contents were removed. I called to request a refund, which was eventually given, but not before a lot of time and energy was expended on my part. They basically called me a liar initially, but gave in after I made a fuss.

Also, I really have no idea who pays their high web site prices for new wax. The day after Topps Chrome Basketball hit, and got hot, they jacked up the price to $110, while most other internet card vendors were selling boxes for the initial order price until they had to reorder (I found boxes that day on line for $69.99 w/free shipping for a $100 order!). They always seem to be raising the price bar on new products well before anyone else, but I'm sure many people just blindly order from them because of their "reputation". Check around, these guys are not bashful about charging you top dollar.

Finally, at every big show I have been to in the last year (including last years National in AC), they always had the highest prices of any wax vendors at that given show. Talking to other dealers who were set up there usually seemed to prove that this is a commonly held notion...

That's really sorry stuff about the vending - BBCKid seems honest - have gotten great pulls. What I find interesting is that they take a full page ad out every week in SCD only buying - talk about singing to the choir! I have never done business with them just for the reason you've stated.

like anything else you might want to ask yourself a question,
"do you feel lucky, well do you punk?"...no..not THAT question, this one-
who is smarter, the buyer or the seller?

What does that mean? It was a legit question, and I am sure the feedback was helpful to the original poster.

  • As a matter of fact it was. Thanks to everyone who offered their experiences. I think that I will give theses guys a pass and go with someone else.

i would highly recommend eastcwholesale. the only wax i buy are topps heritage and have used them for the last few years. great pre-sell price of 480-490 a case. product always always arrive within 2 days after release. very helpful customer service , they provide tracking# the day they ship. chris park is the owner and he gave me a break on shipping and cost because i bought 3 cases. the cases they sell are ALWAYS sealed.

i have dealt with dave and adams for some 75 wax and 89 ud , this was 4 years ago. the product was fine, i pulled a bunch of griffey's and from the 75's i did well, most of the 9's in my set came from that deal. the only thing i didn't care for was the time it took to receive the cards over a week and half from upstate NY to NYC.

  • eastcwhole.com is there email. you can request a weekly list of presell, specials and live items. they have a website but it's not eastcwhole i can't remember the name. i deal with them from the list they email to me.
  • I would highly recommend ecoastwholesales, I dont believe they keep their website updated well but if you get on their emailers list it is updated quite regularly and I believe they offer some of the best case prices you can find. they also sell on ebay. I have bought from them before and was very pleased with their service.
