I have been busting these like crazy (4 boxes already, three more incoming). LeBron's seem to fall every other box, and so far I've gotten no special refractors, or autos/gu. You do get 6 refractors (2 rookie) per box, and I am trying to put together a complete regular refractor set. I bought mine from a dealer for $69.00 a box, he has since raised prices to $79.00, and then $89.00.
As usual, Dave and Adams couldn't wait to jack the prices up on this product. Day after it came out, they shot the price up to $110 a box (even though they had initial orders probably at $55 or so, instead of waiting to raise their prices on reorder). But, if you poke around online, you can find boxes for $80-$90 or so.
Specifically, I am not certain...but Topps Chrome hobby boxes are supposed to have a higher ratio of gu/auto cards than retail packs. I don't know the exact ratios yet on this product, because it is so new.
I seem to got lucky in 9 packs, I lucked out, when the dealer opened a fresh box, so I put the 5 old packs back, and got all 9 from a new box. I pulled a Shaq auto and Carmelo RC in one pack! I think the autographed cards are seeded one per case, or something like that, so I got real lucky!
You did get lucky, so far I have managed only one auto (of the great Slavko Vranes!) out of my many boxes...lots of nice, off-centered rookie cards though!
I bought 5 retail packs, of course I didn't expect to get an auto or GU from a searched box but none the less, I has very happy...4 rookies, 1 rookie refractor and 1 rookie black refractor. Nice
