I'll be spending the day (from 6 a.m. 'til after 9 p.m.) manning the polls at my local precinct, where an entirely new system of voting on electronic pads is being instituted. The complete results for the precinct will be printed out on adding machine-type tape as soon as we close the polls - a far cry from when I was a reporter covering elections in the '50s and spent the entire night traveling from polling place to polling place to try and get the latest results as the workers manually counted the X marks!

I can't even vote today in the primary's In CT you have to register with a party to vote in the primary's and I really can't choose one over the other so I have to wait until November.
