We buried grandma today

Well as a way to kind leave a part of me with my grandma I left in her casket in her blouse a set of 1910 coins a cent , V nickel, barber dime, quarter, and 50c. I figured it was the least I could do after all she gave me a very worn 1921 peace dollar when I was 15yo. It was a major honor to be her pall bearer.

vital stats on grandma

Hold your head up high Hepcat!

You had a wonderful grandmother...... Cherish the memories...

It is right to be the one to lay her to rest, this is the order it should be... Rather then her buring you....

    She lived a long life!!!!!

Ask the Lord for comfort... He listens, and He knows what it is to die and to see someone die....

  • Byron,
She's in a much better place than we are.
May you and your Grandma be reunited again someday.

Wow- she had a nice long life. I hope I can emulate her. Sorry for your loss, but I can see you are just as proud to have been her grandson as you are sad. I felt that way when my grandfather died. I lost my last grandparent ten years ago.

May she rest in peace Byron. She obviously had a family that knows love and respect and I'm sure she was part of the reason you are the way you are now. I will say a prayer for her tonight.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"
  • I never got to see my granddad he died in 1960 a few years before I was even thought of. Today I actually got to see his grave and his tomb stone. All in all it was kinda cool because it makes me see where and who I have come from .

My paternal grandfather died in 1960, also. He was young: only 51 at the time. Like you, I wasn't even thought of yet.
