1955 Topps FB set

What are the tough ones to get from this set in higher grade? I know what the pop. report tells me, but for those of you who have been collecting it for a while, any ones in particular to watch out for?

The toughest two are #90 O'Rourke and #82 Wojo. You will see insane
premiums paid for these cards in PSA 8 holders. As tough as these two
are, it seems that #80 Oosterbaan and #81 Warburton are almost as rare.
The Thorpe card and Four Horsemen card are almost impossible to find
perfectly centered. Other tough cards to find in NM-MT condition are
    #4 Pinckert, #24 Strong, & #88 Kercheval (I've seen the Kercheval driven
up to $300 at one time). The #97 Don Hutson card has a fairly high pop,
but it seems like whenever one comes up (which is not often) a premium is
paid (not to mention it's an SP).
  • I would also throw #69 Sinkwich and #17 Reynolds into the mix as tough cards. One thing I found in making this set is that the Short Prints really don't seem that much tougher than the non-Short Prints. I'm sure there is technically some difference in difficulty, but it does not seem that dramatic to me. There is a more noticeable difference on the high number short prints (93-100) than the other SP's, but the main thing is that some of these cards (SP or not) are just tougher than others due to condition/centering issues. Also, the White/Tinsley error variations are VERY tough in any grade.
  • 1 CARD missing from this list is foldberg really the 3 hardest

Are you thinking of getting into this set?

Just curious. Let me know when you have a chance.

I tried emailing you, and it bounced back to me.
