I have always been intimidated by the gold dollar. They are so tiny. Rookie thinking, no doubt. I have seen some very neat gold dollars, including one owned by an (anonymous) board member which I think is one of the coolest gold coins I have ever seen (it's an 1855-D Type II dollar).
I have just ordered my first gold dollar and am looking forward to getting it (from Doug Winter/Pinnacle):
