    plasticman...

Don't we all end with some oddball card of some guy eventually? Here are some I don't know what to do with. Or why I even have them in the first place!
A PSA 8 1978 OPC Eddie Murray RC... PSA 10 1988 Fleer Glossy Winfield and Ozzie cards... a PSA 10 1990 Leaf Willie McGee... a PSA 9 1983 Topps Fergie Jenkins... and more just like this stuff! Of course, I have a small truckload of extra PSA Nolan Ryans of all kinds and grades! I just sent in a real sharp 1992 OPC Cal Ripken (with Gehrig). I don't even know why!

I am always busting boxes of oddball 1980s stuff looking for raw Ryans. As a result I have the following hanging around raw from the past couple weeks: 1981 OPC, 1985 OPC, 1986 OPC, 1986 Leaf, 1985 Topps Rubdowns, 1988 Donruss Baseball's Best, and a few of those famous Fleer boxed sets!
  • awesome. Ive got a 78 OPC Eddie Murray PSA 8 but wouldnt mind another one eventually. Thats one of my favorite cards of his, the OPC. That and the 85 OPC/Topps test mini cards. Have both varieties there.

    Ben,

If you can, send me a list of what you need and I'll check for you. I have tons of 70's and 80's oddballs just taking up space.

    Keith,
Unfortunately I dont. Id imagine it will cost you quite a bit IF/WHEN you can track one down. I managed to get both the regular back and the blank backed Murrays for less than $100 each. It took me a few years to even find them. Keep looking, Ryan is the most expensive one in the set. Beckett books it at $400, SCD's yearly guide at $325.

    Thanks...

A PSA 10 Ryan went for about $1800 in the last big Mile High auction... I couldn't go that high! But, hopefully a Mint copy can be found for $600 or so... I can swing that much. Nice find on the Murrays!

Definitely. This stuff is so tough, I pretty much think these are the holy grail of 1980s cards (feel free to argue if you wish anyone else haha). I almost wish they wouldve made a full set of these.

  • jackstraw and Marc, regarding the 1990 OPC cards, there are two versions available for that year. I don't know if either of you or anyone else is aware, but for 1990 OPC there are card backs that use standard OPC cardboard and then there versions with Topps style cardboard. One was available in wax packs and the other only came in factory sets, but both are OPC with the bilingual text on the back. Which version was distributed in which escapes me right now, but always be on the lookout for both kinds if you are a player collector and need 1990 OPC's.
