    From the SMA website....

    Paper Stock

These original paper stock cutouts are mostly before the traditional card era pre-1950. These Original Vintage Collectable's are increasing in popularity, and gaining recognition in the vintage card world. These paper stock cutouts give collectors a great way to own the early stars like Ty Cobb, Shoeless Joe Jackson, Honus Wagner, Babe Ruth etc without spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on the few T-206, Cracker Jack Etc. cards. Paper stock cutouts offer better poses and have visual appearance than the standard Pre 1950 cards.

The original 1954 and 1955 S.I. Topps -Sports Illustrated (paper stock) versions officially licensed by Topps.

I was wondering how many bidders actually think they are receiving a card instead of a cutout from an old Baseball Who's Who or guide.
You can buy an old beat up guide missing a cover for around $20.00, and then on every other page cut out a baseball picture or 2 and then start the bidding at $9.99 or higher and it becomes very lucrative, and apparently there are buyers, people just love that Mint designation...jay
Nap Lajoie cut out that looks like an old card

They are nice enough to offer 2-3 day service, but if you pay by check, be warned that... "Personal checks must clear the bank before your cards are returned regardless of the service time selected."

the ads themself are kinda cool.. they should do away with the home-style grading though.. I bet they could sell the ads by themself..

Interesting how they say "the back has partial text and or photo"...yeah, from the story on the back of the magazine page!

My favorite part: Professional cutting included! We will only grade the items you want graded. (Example: 1954 SI sheet we will only grade the ones you want and return the rest)

call me stupid, but I actually dig these things.. i wouldnt pay a premium for them.. i'd cut em out myself before I did that.. if I wanted to have them graded, I would have the entire magazine graded *INTACT* instead of cutting out the pics
