I enjoy reproduction, or at least reproductive contact, but I don't see buying a reproduction of a coin I can't own.

Not a dumb question.
There were some 370,000 minted, but all were melted. Apparently one is known to have escaped this fate.
There is some inconsistency in this report, I note one publication stating the coins were really dated 1944. Anyone have the definitive study?
