Gold Content of American Revolution Medal?

VeepVeep Posts: 1,450 ✭✭✭✭
I bought this gold American Revolution Medal cheap. I got it home and it weighed in at 13 grams. I'm guessing that it follows Mint Stanard of .900 fineness. Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks!

Veep, are you sure it's not just plated? I don't believe it is an "official" US mint release. Here are some on eBay with corresponding prices:

    5-coin set for $29.95

    Single coin for $5

No, I'm not sure that its not just plated. The piece that I have is about nickel-sized compared to the silver dollar-sized medal mentioned in the description that you linked. A nickel weighs in at about 5 grams. Given a weight of 13 grams, I felt certain that my piece was gold.

    Any insight will be appreciated!

Ok, here's one that might be closer to yours...
