Anyone purchased coins from I. Kleinman?

Just saw an interesting ad for "Rare Date U.S. Coins for the Collector" being sold by I. Kleinman. Anyone had any experience dealing with this company or individual? Looks like the company has been around since at least 1971 so surely someone here has had dealings. Feel free to PM me. Thanks

    I. Kleinman had two sons, Norman & Jack. I have been dealing with them for 35+ years. Norman is running the business now, and is A-OK. Deal with confidence. He will back up anything that he says.

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

Agreed. Norman is very ethical in his dealings with his retail customers. Whenever I've offered him some of my dups, he'd ask me if I got 'em from him. He wants to make sure that he offers me strong money for the stuff he once sold me as an indication of the level of confidence he has in his merchandise.

This also means that if you think his prices are too high (I don't think his prices are too high, btw), you can buy with confidence because he offers some degree of insulation.

Hi. About 20 years ago I finished my commem set by buying a Hawaiian from them. Everything went well. Wish I still had the coin!
  • I bought a 1794 Half Dollar off them in the mid 80's and when I decided to sell it back to them they gave me a very strong offer that I was very happy with. I would have no problem buying raw Busties from them again.

I see the two sons run the business from New York. The ad I saw had a New Jersey address. Does the dad still sell too or do they have two locations?

I have heard good things about them.

Have also heard that they are two characters. Always yelling and fighting with each other that is quite amusing.

The official I. Kleinman biz is run out of NJ (by Norman) now. The two brothers are no longer in biz together. The father is deceased.
