Wow, its true, its really true, people just like me!
Just wanted to say "howdy" to you all. And yes, I have joined the "darkside," specifically the German branch, more specifically, the Imperial German branch.
Hope to have many spirited chats with you all.

I am also looking for some German East Africa coins. I have only two thus far, and I got lucky finding those. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Again, thank you for the nice welcome everyone!

I'm currently in Stuttgart so if you need help finding anything let me know
So what kind of Reichsmünzen do you collect? small change, silver, or just general?
I've found it's a bit tougher to find perfect examples of the small change. There are plenty of dealers online but not many with pictures. The best place to find stuff is at auctions. Aside from that shows are great, but the smaller ones are aggrivating. There's going to be a few big shows coming up down south here: Munich next weekend (huuuuge!), Karlsruhe on the 21st, and Stuttgart next month.. I'll probably only make the Karlsruhe one though
A good resource would be the Münzen & Papiergeld magazine or even Münzen Revue. I'll scan the dealer listing page in a minute (I think Cacheman might be interested in that too.. did you get a copy yet, Scott?)
Well, I'm rambling.. welcome to the forum!
My wantlist & references
Mark
In terms of what I collect, its pretty much a mishmash, i.e. whatever I can find locally. This usually is in the 1-mark down category. I have purchased a few things on Ebay. And for Christmas I received the bible of German coins, the Standard Catalog of German Coins, 2nd Edition. Now, of course, I will need to purchase more coins to have more reason to look in that huge book.
I am very interested in the German Colonial issues, coin or currency. I just found two Deutches Ost Afrika coins, a 1912 J one-heller, and an 1891 one-pesa. Since I tend to be a history-buff, I thought it was excellent to have something from that colony. I've been reading a lot about von Lettow-Vorbeck's brilliant WWI campaign there.
I have been able to pick up some 1, 2, 3 1916 iron Kopeks. I have the 1916 A 1-kopek, the 1916 J 2-kopek, and the 1916 A 3-kopek, so now I am looking for the reverse mintmarks (J, A, J).
I do have some Weimar and National Socialist era coins, but prefer the Imperial and German states.
Again, thanks to everyone here for the awesome welcome. I will probably be able to respond quicker to the posts during the week when I should be working instead of surfing the 'Net.

Good memory Spoon, you must still be a young buck, huh? I received a copy of Münzen Revue which shows all the auctions and shows through April and that should be all I need....besides a translator that is. Too bad I'm not heading over there right away..the biggest show is coming up shortly in Munich!
