Well... it was kinda a bust for me... only 1 coin buy, barely spent any of what I had... I just didn't feel in the mood to buy a Merc for my short set... anyways, I met Gandyjai and his wife for breakfast at Denny's. We had a great time with our show and tell. Finally confirmed that a '40-D Merc I have, does indeed have an RPM... so that's cool... saw gandyjai buy a very interesting Ike Error, hopefully he'll have pictures soon, that was cool. I bought a raw 1834 Capped Bust Half-Dime in VF30 from Bill Jones, and held the most expensive coin I've ever held in my hand today... it was a Flowing Hair Half-Dime in PCGS-AU58 from Bill's collection. That was really cool, had a rotated reverse and some nice toning too! Overall, decent day, was hoping to cherrypick some things, but it just didn't happen...

Congrats to Ed Kuszmar on another show well done.
Met JrGMan and had a blast! Due to my wife's condition, (8 1/2 months pregnant), I didn't stay
as long as I normally do...only a couple of hours today. Only bought one coin,.....but it was one
heck of an Ike error! I have no idea what to call it and have never seen anything like it.
I'll let PCGS decide what the heck it is....sending it in with 3 other Ike errors on Monday.
Activity at the show was fairly busy....Nice early Type stuff seemed to be selling pretty good.
Lots of currency dealers....about 150 tables in all, but not all were coins....there were other collectables
stuff.....A Highwaymen's painting exhibit I was looking forward to that had some nice paintings, but seemed
a little (actually a LOT) on the high end
Most every table had a person or two looking at their wares. Seemed to be plenty of people bringing
n stuff to sell as well.
Some dealers were extremely friendly and helpful, (Bill Jones, Lance Tchor).....then there was a couple
that were so doggone grumpy, I don't know how they ever make a sale!
One, in particular, made the Wicked Witch of the West look like Snow White!

You always remember the expensive ones... I remember the 37-D 3 legger in PCGS 66 I held when it was $25k... recently sold for $76k (first slab I held, actually)... then this summer I got to hold the ANA 1804 Type 1 dollar... yes!
I'd say you had fun--if you saved your money but came out happy, I'd say you did quite well
