I got an email confirmation from one of my credits cards about a laptop I never ordered!

I just deleted (after checking my online statement to make sure there were no unauthorized charges).

Contact Blanchard immediately. It could be a salesman trying to scam them for a commission before fleeing the country! image

Actually, yeah, it could be. Make the call.

That's funny - I was under the impression that Blanchard was closed this week for Mardi Gras. What's the date on the invoice? Could be someone pretending to be Blanchard.

  • Invoice is from 2/20 and yes, they will not be back until 3/4...I bet salesman jammed in commission to party on.

Think it's a coincidence that it's close to, but still under $10,000 to avoid IRS reporting?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Purely guessing, but if it's a salesman scam, it's not a bullion transaction. The commissions wouldn't amount to much. So it wouldn't be reportable.

On the other hand, 10K and up transactions might be given greater scrutiny by Blanchard or by a credit card company, so the value of the transaction is probably not a coincidence.
