Hard to tell from the scan whether it's genuine, but these coins did see lots of circulation in the Middle East and east Africa. I have a couple of circulated ones I picked up over there.

The best way to tell if it's genuine is to weigh it and give it the "drop test" to see if it sounds like silver.
