Totally Clueless
I am very new to this board and even to this world of coins. Long story, short version, Through a dead in the family, my wife and I are now in possession of the coins that her Father had saved. Don't know why he saved what he did, but he did. Anyway, we have no use for them and are not collectors.
So I guess my question is, how does one go about liquidating the coins we have? I did scan them on my scanner and put them up on my cheap website, but now I am lost as to our next step.
Coin Pictures
Any ideas? Any suggestions?
thanks people, We have really enjoyed learning and looking at all you have to offer and you seem like a great bunch of people..

Opps didn't look at the old tails file. Those two ARE worh a premium, but I didn't see a scan of the other side so can't say how much of a premium.
As others have said those don't have much (if any) premium to collectors (depending on what the "heads" of your oldtails shows)
Just for your info, the head of the coin is called the obverse and the tail is called the reverse

Welcome to the boards.
In looking over the items that you have shown, most items are worth face value.
The star note $2 bill may be worth slighlty more than $2, but it has been written on, so probably not.
I could not load the picture of the fronts of the second set of $2 bills. The one with Monticello on the back is probably worth a little more than $2, depending on what date is on the front and how circulated the note is. I think that it is still neat.
Depending on the dates on the "oldtails" coins, the values will be slighlty higher than face. I see an "S" mintmark on the back of the Silver Dollar (which is called a Morgan Dollar) and may increase the value a little more, again depending on the date.
If I were you and I had kids, or planned on having kids I would pick out the best example of each coin/bill (kind and date) and just spend the rest. For the ones you keep, give them to your children at the right time as momentos of their Grandfather.
Otherwise, if you have any interest in coins at all, keep the "oldcoins", $2 bill with Monticello and the best looking other $2 bill. Spend the rest.
If you have no interest in coins or currency, give the 4 keepers listed above to one of your wife's relatives with kids and spend the rest.
That is my advice.
FWIW, I was stationed at Carswell AFB from 1989-1991. Lived in Benbrook.
