Is there a camera of choice for coin photos?

Any specs necessary?

Alot of digital cameras take good coin pictures with proper lighting and adjustment.
Mostly they just need to be able to focus at close range.
If you search this forum for camera I am sure you will find alot of threads.

  • Look for those digital cameras with macro and/or supermacro modes. Nearly all of the $300+ models offer that feature.

    Great advise!

I just purchased a Nikon CoolPix 4300 and I am enjoying it so far.

That's what I use, a Nikon CP 4300. I am very pleased with it.

Better yet look HERE. My camera of choice would be the Olympus C5050.

I use the Nikon Coolpix 4500--it's swiveling lens (to me) makes it superior to the 4300, as a mini tripod can be used instead of an expensive copy stand, and the tripod can go anywhere... click on my sig link to see lots of examples.
