Now that I've graduated to Ultra-Poobah Elite Expert status (based on my excessive nonsense posts in the Open Forum), I've had a revelation in my coin-collecting exploits and that is: Life doesn't end at MS60.
I'm trying to collect the entire Classic Commem series in uncirculated condition. The Lincoln Commem has never been one of my favorites - the design seems flat and lifeless in BU condition. That is until I met this well-defined gentlemen. Harlan Berk (Chicago) graded this out at AU55 and I do see the wear, but the color and dirtiness that defines the detail combined with it's completely trouble-free original appearance has made this coin one of my faves. I proudly placed this one in my Dansco today where it's currently reigning as my most appealing coin, coincidentally with the lowest grade.
Never again will I ignore the lesser coins...
