Mint error, Need help on the value

fivecentsfivecents Posts: 11,207 ✭✭✭✭✭
This is a major die cap. I have never seen one this intense. Do any Mint error collectors or dealers know of a value. I want to make an offer to purchase this coin and have not got a clue on the value.

Have you compared them to the ones for sale at Fred Weinberg's site?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • I'd give $500 to $650 for that one, it does look nice although it maybe worth significantly more to the right person.

That is definitely not an error, that has to be intentionally made, I can not believe that escaped the mint without some help.image

    WOW!image
That looks like one confused coin!!
Looks legit to me....not sure how it happened or even what to call it?
I would talk to Fred.....you can call him (number is on his web site). He has been very helpful to me
in the past on giving advice over the phone. Real nice guy!
You might also want to look up Rich Schemmer's (sp?) error coins and check with him.

    Good Luck,

Kranky, joeyuk.... Thanks for the great links.image
rottnrog...$700 will not buy this coin. I thought the owner was asking moon money. I will pass on this one.
