Economy Service

Coin FinderCoin Finder Posts: 7,159 ✭✭✭✭✭
I keep seeing complaints about turnaround times on economy service. True it is getting longer. I have two solutions, send the coins in for regular service or wait and do not send in any until the turn around times are back at more reasonable levels to you.

What other choices are there that will not impact the quality of the grades?

Thanks

Click here for the solution to the PCGS turnaround time problem.

Agreed. I signed up with them 3 days ago. I can't afford to wait 90+ days for my coins to be graded at economy prices.
If and when PCGS gets their act together on the Economy turn-around times, I'll once again start submitting to them.

I thought someone might do that!image Russ...play nice!!

I personally do not think NGC grades are consistant enough for me and what I collect. I think NGC and the ANA have some work to do. These two are joined at the hip correct?

    My opinion.

Waiting for turn around times to improve, before sending submissions down, won't really do it.
Just keep sending submissions in on some regular basis, and pretty soon, you'll be receiving one back, on some regular schedule..
    Make sense?

As are PCGS and Collcetors Universe...NASDAQ symbol CLCT...responsible to shareholders for increasing and maintaining profits.

Profits must be pretty good with all the submissions. If the economy service submissions were all changed to regular service it would produce more profit. This is good for share holders.

Is NGC and the ANA listed on the stock exchange? If they are not, then they really do not have the same kind of pressure PCGS has I guess. They really do not have to back up there grades or try to produce except to maintain their (loyal) customer base that I believe are fickle. I think NGC "customers" will buy and sell PCGS graded coins and submit to PCGS. Its a free country. I know PCGS customers do and they are not fickle generally speaking. There are always exceptions. I do not think PCGS customers use the NGC product that much generally. By this I mean they do not submit to NGC much if at all compared to PCGS. I think the reason is because PCGS coins bring more money sight unseen in the market place.

This is the work NGC and the ANA have. I do not think they will ever catch up with PCGS unless something drastic happens.

Why has the ANA endorsed NGC anyway? What is that all about?

If they are on the stock exchange what is their stock at?

    Come and get um

Many of the dealer customers of PCGS send coins to NGC. Thinking they don't is just sticking your head in the sand. What good is more money if you cannot sell the coin because you don't have it? Waiting an extra 2 months to make a few more dollars is a very poor business decision.

Remember economy service cannot be used for higher dollar coins, so many of the better coins are already submitted under the regular service.

Because NGC paid them a bunch of money to be named the official grading service

    They aren't.

I would use regular service but I have a problem with spending more money on grading the coin than the coin is worth. I will send more expensive coins to regular service. (I mean more expensive than the grading fee).

Yes, I have used Russ's solution. I hope to pick them up in Baltimore.
