Question about PSA grading....?

I have been looking into getting some cards graded and they all fall within the Vintage Common 1960-1971. Do I have to have 50 cards to send into them and be forced to use this feature, or will they let me send them in under the Economy Service?

I have been looking here:

Any help will be appreciated.

Philip

P.S. Does anyone know any PSA dealers in GA that they deal with personally and trust?

Move along folks.......Nothing to see here.

    no

you could send any number (as few as 1)
in at just $10 each for a 5 day special

(that sure beats the heck out of the 45 day
turn around on that 50 minimum, vintage deal)

**and remember that you must join the PSA collectors club
before you are allowed to submit anyway.

    You're kidding?!

I have to pay $99 (or $199) to submit cards to PSA? What a rip.

Why would this be beneficial to them in the first place?

None of the other grading companies make you do this.

No HE's not kidding those are the rules you must join the club to submit the cards. If you have vintage commons that are going to grade PSA 8 or higher the extra you get for them compared to the other companies will easily surpass the $100 you have to pay to join the club ( wich also includes some benefits including free grades etc.)my auctions on ebayimage

I can understand that Glyn. I've also seen others on here that send in cards and think it should get a 8 or better, and end up with a handful of junk when it gets back. I think it may be beneficial in the future for me, but we shall see.

Jay, I've been talking with Kathy Hays at GAI, I specifically asked her if I needed a member # to submit wax/cello packs . She said no. Does this not apply to raw cards?

MAGELLAN - I saw on their site awhile ago that they too were charging $99 for membership, I don't know what that gets you or doesn't get you, so as SKYCAP suggests contact them directly...jay

The 99 is not a bad deal. Pop reports, SMR, SMR online, and 4 gradings are worth 99 bucks.

Aren't they still doing the $5 a card, 25 minimum set registry postmarked by the 29th?

the membership to GAI does include
    several freebies (not good ones)
    and four free gradings,

but you do not have to be a member
    to submit cards to them.
The membership just gets you "preferential
service levels" over the average non-member
    submitter.

PSA is the only one that makes you join.
(but again, they give you enough free grades
to cover the cost of joining, so it is really
    irrelevent.)

BKAH - I was referring to PSA, as the smr was also mentioned as a bonus, the smr is exclusively a PSA creation...jay
