peace dollar - comments please

Hi, came across this peace dollar (1922) does anyone know what grade or value it might be. There is a fair bit of discoloring round the edges - is this bad?

Yes sure is - do you know what the yellow discolouring around the edges is and is it bad?

If it's a deep yellow it's tape residual.......

Maybe you need to back away a little bit so your camera can focus.
Some (most? L if I know) have a slower shutter speed if the flash is turned off and that makes a shaky hand blur the picture more.

Still rubbish either too dark or too bright - maybe i ain't cut out to be a photographer - I'll keep trying. thanks for the help

Try using natural light, at an angle to the coin. That's how the coin below was shot. Also, a tripod helps with the steadiness factor....

Your digi-cam may have a "macro" setting for close-ups too.......
