So, I'm looking at an 1870 Two Center on eBay, and wondering why the obverse image is fuzzy.

Pretty clear reverse image:

But the obverse image is very out of focus:

Then I find where the coin sold in a Heritage Bullet Sale earlier this month:

I'm sure it must be just coincidence that the seller was able to get a nice shot of the reverse, but somehow was unable to do so with the butt ugly obverse. image

  • Hmmm. Definately just poor camera skills. I'd never dream that
someone on Ebay would deliberately take a poor picture of an
    ugly coin! image

You know, you're a very cynical person, Russ. Like you never took a bad coin photo? image

I wonder what would happen if you requested a clear photo of the obverse, as it's obviously within the guy's abilities considering the reverse photo.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
