Home PSA Set Registry Forum

Finally....I have scans up on 2 sets!!!

I finally "made" some time this weekend and added scans to the set registry for my cards in the 1928 Millhoff and 1927 Churchman Large size sets.

For those unfamiliar with vintage golf cards, check these out! These are all black and white photos of golfers of the day. My Millhoff set has 2 of 3 PSA 9's that have been graded of a golf card prior to 1930!

I will try to get scans of the more colorful cards from 1931 etc later and let you folks know.

Thanks to those of you out there is CU land that occasionally inquire with questions about the golf cigarette cards.

Thanks for looking!

  • Those are great sets. I am curious. Some of the cards are in the newer holder which is centered. Others are not. Will PSA reholder those cards if you want? And if so, what risk is there that they will damage the cards doing so?

I am planning on going to the National this year and taking some of the very cards you are mentioning from these and other sets I own to be encaed in a better fitting holder.

Dave,I loved them in the SMR article and enjoyed the writeup as well.

When I get a minute to myself I have to sit and check them out.

Thanks for making them available for the visual pleasure.

    The artists were amazing!
  • Dave,

Thanks for adding what is missing from most registry sets - SCANS!

I love to look at sets that I don't know anything about, and to be able to see scans of each card is such a bonus (especially the great quality ones that you have added to your sets).

Here is Dave's '31 Churchman set - check out some of the scans.

I include scans, front and back, of every card that I have listed on the set registry. I can't imagine adding a card to any of my sets without a scan and I often hold off on it for a few days if I don't have the time to scan cards. At one point, I think I had between 2500 and 3000 scans on the registry. Many are still there.

Sets without scans are boring. They tell me that the owner is more interested in the numbers, his ranking on the set, or is just using the set registry as a checklist for what he owns.

Please share your sets with us!

Thanks for the effort, Dave. It is appreciated.

    Great job.

OR he wants to but he just can't figure out how to get them in there.

I added one as a test to my set and by the time I got it small enough to fit, it ended up looking like a blurry postage stamp. image

  • I love looking at these cards that I had never seen before. Thanks for taking the effort to post the pix!
