The Mantle/Griffey - now I wouldn't mind having that one - don't want to start another deal but I still think Griffey is a super player - hope he comes back this year

1955 Bowman Billy and Bobby Schantz
    1954 Topps O'Brien brothers
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    '53 Bauer Berra Mantle
    '53 Rizzuto Martin
'37 Diamond Stars Unissued Bottomley and Hornsby (?)
    T201 Cobb/Crawford

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • I certainly agree with the 53 Bowman Bauer Berra Mantle. I used to own that card in mint 9 condition. If newer cards count, I'd have to say the 03 SP Legendary cuts Ruth Gehrig 1/1 combo cut card.

To me a combo card consists of more then 1 player which isn't a players regular card. So with that said, leader cards fall into my version of combo's, and you don't get much better then this trio...jay

Ah the budget busters ... I bet there will be one. image

Joe, that Arod Jeter sounds like a cool on.

Another one is that Brett/Carew Donruss - 1982 I think and of course the Triple Threat combo

I am surprised that there is not a set for these on the Registry .... hmmmmm, maybe I will start one

Same holds true for League Leaders

    I like the 2000 Jeter/ARod co-signers design better
  • 64 Mays and Aaron
  • I always like the early 80's Fleer issues that put random players together under a lame heading. I think there was one called Black and Blue with Bud Black and Vida Blue...hahaha. Or Old Sluggers or something and it was Stargell and Yaz on their last legs.

The Cubs & White Sox team card from mid-70s sets are funny because of the floating heads rather than a team picture.

I've thought about starting one, too, but didn't because
then I'd feel obligated to collect it (can't afford it!) image. I do
have an old baseball cards magazine that covers the
subject, and they have a thorough list of all the combo
cards. If you're serious about setting this up, feel free
to drop me an email if you'd like some help.

CW, send me the list at nkane9@aol.com - I did not see your email. As far as expese is concerned, I enjoy mid grades and I would not have a problem with a PSA 5-7 set at all. Mantle combos would most likely be the main expense, but I do not know of any really hard to get combos in the grades I would collect. I would imagine the combos started in the 57 set and ended in 68, if this was going to be strictly Topps.

There are some real beauties out there, and this would most likely be a set registered to at least 10 people.

Isn't there a combo card from the last 10 years that had players named Puff and Bong?

Here are some of my favorites:

    1) 1968 Superstars
    2) 1957 Dodgers Sluggers
    3) 1959 Corsair Trio
    4) 1967 Pitt Power
    5) 1954 O'Brien Bros
  • Then there was the 1961 Topps combo card "Lindy shows Larry", which had to be previewed by parents before distributing to the kids because you just didnt know what Lindy was showing Larry image.

Cool card, goodrid! Speaking of Barilko, have you ever heard the

the lyrics when you get a chance...
