The flip side of our eBay horror story for tonight...

This from a little seller I dealt with for the first time on a $9 purchase ... not everyone is evil. I received this e-mail today from a seller worried about less than a buck:

Thought you would like to know that I shipped your order this morning.

-A note about shipping- The actual USPS charges were less than I had
anticipated for most packages that I sent today. When you recieve payments
through paypal they take 2.9% +.30 cents from the total of the amount
recieved which usually leaves $1-2 for shipping. In future auctions I will
be charging less for shipping. If you win any of my future auctions make me
aware that you are a past customer and I'll send you that item free of
shipping charges. If you are disatisfied with the shipping amount you paid
on this auction please let me know, I want you to be happy with your
purchase!

  • I had a guy offer me a 120% refund until he was blue in the face if I didn't like the coin............ I loved it.... (and I'm way too picky)image
  • I've had something similiar w/ a sm (less than 2 bucks) over payment and the dude refunded my paypal.

  • There is no question that I have dealt with countless great folks on EBAY, and not just coin people. My shows locally are small and the net has opened the door to a world of inventory for me to browse. However, the bottom feeders are crusing. They can't rip off the well informed, but there is a ton of people out there with a good deal of cash to spend and not a clue what to do with it. I agree with Dog97. My sympathy for folks who get involved in a purchase they know nothing about is minimal. The consumer has to take some responsibilty. image

I purchased a PCGS MS65 Ike from a board member here via his eBay auction and he refunded my $4. postage without prompting. It was a nice, little treat. Oh, the coin arrived today and he was not only accurate in his description, but the coin is better than his scan and goes straight into the "keeper" box.

I got some auctions going right now and I just put FREE SHIPPING!!! all over the auction so we don't have to worry about it.
Maybe the sleazeBay sellers have been reading my posts where I'm always harping about shipping charges. image
I had a board member kick back my postage ($4) on his auctions that I won the other week. It was airplanenut. Great guy. image

I messed up and accidentally delayed the shipping of a coin a guy bought from me on Ebay, so I put a 5 dollar bill in the box I sent the coin in............hopefully he'll be surprised and happy.
  • Hey Put,

by any chance would that coin be a 1895-O, would it ??
Remember it's not how you pick your nose that matters, it's where you put the boogers.

You should name him. I think many people would want to visit his auctions.
