Whew ... ever pull one of these...

You are absent mindedly surfing the boards and totally forget about a coin you wanted to cherry with a snipe -- manually -- over on eBay. You frantically click over to eBay and find 28 seconds remain in the auction, you scramble, get in your snipe and win. image True story from tonight ... don't ask about ones where I've arrived a few seconds too late. image

Usually I don't remember until 2 minutes to 2 hours AFTER the auction has closed.
So I say GRRRR...... and another one turns up in a week or 2.

  • Thats what a sniping service is for.

Sniping sites are ok UNTIL somebody hacks them and gets your eBay ID & password, which everybody guards with their life, but gives freely to complete strangers @ the sniping service.
It happened to a service I used last year, I think it was Hammer Snipe.

More times than I wish to remember. And some of them still hurt years later!

It's happened a few times. But much like women and buses, there's another coin coming the road any minute.

Thank you, toot ... and I do hope you have learned how to distinguish the difference between women and buses. Throwing yourself in front of both can hurt, but only one (as a generalization) can kill you ... at least immediately. image

One will kill you fast, the other makes you wish that you were killed faster.

  • Sniping service ???

I like the hands on approach.

    29 seconds to go..hit the bid button, 5 sec......submitt button, 6 sec.....load up refreshed page, 10 sec.
now I watch the refreshed screen for 8 sec. and it either says "You have been outbid..... or "Congratulation"

I love it love it love it !!!

It's a cheep rush for me.

I used to think that way, until I lost a coin I really wanted because I got disconnected. I've used Vrane most of the last couple years, and have done well. I'm not too worried about my eBay ID and password being compromised, that can be fixed if it happens. I use different passwords for PayPal.
