I guess the seller doesn't comprehend that a DDO - "early die stage" or not - doesn't acquire additional doubling as time goes on. He says the coin doesn't have the doubling on LIBERTY and IGWT, but somehow over time we're to believe it would develop such doubling, thus morphing into the rare variety?
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

And if placed in the same collection with AG coins they will increase in grade (gradually however) to EF and perhaps even AU
For a second there I got really excited. I don't remember the last time I saw a really nice 69-s strong DDO for auction. Then I saw the picture and realized it was one of the very weak varieties if a DDO at all.
I don't see any doubling at all in the scans provided, which isn't suprising. At that magnification only the strongest of doubled dies would even be visible. I didn't bother reading the description, but from what others say here it's obvious that the guy hasn't a clue.
I guess I just don't feel confident in my knowledge of the series and would rather buy a certified example, even if it is only brown.
Actually, looking at all that strong doubling gives me a headache. I think I'll settle for this coin since it isn't quite as stressful to look at.

But his description indicates that it isn't.
