Canadian Postal Money Orders

I got a message from a seller in Hawaii that their bank cannot process Canadian postal money orders. Is this true or is something funny going on here? Is there anyway to refund a postal money order, if the seller sends it back to me?

    1. My bank will take a Canadian Post Money Order but will charge a $2.00 fee. The Post Office takes them with no fee. Go buy a 37c stamp, pay with the Canadian Postal Money Order, and get your change. This is only good if the money order is in US funds I believe.

    2. Take your money order back to the Post Office and tell them it was refused. They should give you a refund, at least they do in the US.

  • What I meant to say was that I already sent MO to the seller and the seller even sent the coins to me, but now he says that the MO cannot be processed.

    Sorry about the confusion.

Tell the seller to take the Money Order to the Post Office. See if they will cash it. Was the money order in US funds?

  • Ok I just tried to cash one at the PO they told me the new machines they just got will not accept the Money Orders. It was in US dollars.
My bank is inconsistent with these also once I got charged to cash one this last time I did not. Go figure.
