1893 s morgan..

I would like a second opinion on the grade of this coin. The scan is real dark,The actual coin still has luster.

Not seeing anything. What's really wierd is that it will let me edit the title too. I just put two periods on it.

I want to know how my post is first now? At least that what my computer is showing.

This is part of the upgrade. Instead of showing the posts in chronological order, it's now displayed by the order of importance of the poster.

You're apparently a very important person.
  • Is it slabbed?

I hijacked it. I haven't seen that before. I have God-like forum powers.

  • The coin looks like it has been cleaned. From the picture I can't see any of the diagnostic markers to see if it's a good one or not
  • if a coin of that caliber and demand isn't in a holder,

    there's a reason.

Looks like a VG or Fine. If you can see both lines in the cotten balls I'd call it FINE. The obv is kinda shiny along with the dark stain on the rev makes me think cleaned. Since it is about a roughly $1,000 coin I'd recommend getting it holdered by ANACS to protect both the seller & buyer, if it is ever sold.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

  • Vet, I would grade her VF20 Details/Cleaned/Net F12. I would send her to ANACS for grading. I think the obverse hair has enough detail to warrant VF and the reverse eagle feathers are full enought to warrant VF. I can't see all of the die characteristics, but I can see the raised "3". Very tough date (check mine out in my link below).

Check out a Vanguard Roth IRA.
  • solid vf30 details, cleaned, net f15. still way overpriced from dealer runups after bookoods were bought
1 to 3 years ago in the manipulation making. double, triple the bids with no (or not many) others bought during the run-up....you buy em up first, then run em up, sell them off, the bids go back to reality...

    heh....
  • I am working on that

Hey you VF20/30 guys: What am I missing? It needs fully separated leaves for VF & 2 lines in the cotton balls for Fine & I see neither.
    That's like a $3,000 difference.

    I'd say it's a VF25 cleaned.
    When in doubt, don't.
