Louis xiii coin - opinions

Hi,

I have a coin that i think reads

LOYS XIII R D FRAN ET NAVA - on the head side and

+ DOVBLE TOVRNOIS - on the side with three fleur de lis

does anyone recognise this (i'm new to all this) and if so do they know a possible date (the date is pretty worn along with the rest of the coin but i think it could be 1619) and value.

thanks for your help

Mike.

No not mine, pics are from an old auction. At least i assume it was old because the prices were given in French Francs. The opening bid was 450 FF ( about $90) and the expected sale price was about 750 FF (about $150). Someone with a 17th Century Krause may be able to give you better info.

Krause is the publisher of a series of World Coin Catalogs, I have the one which covers coins from 1900 on, but there are separate books for 1800- 1900 (19th century roughly), 1700-1800 (18th century roughly), and 1600-1700 (17th century roughly). Hopefully, someone who owns the 17th century book will see this thread.
