Acetone + gold = ??

Is acetone a good cleaner for gold ? will it hurt the gold ?

    Acetone only affects organic stuff on coins ... it should be harmless to any patina.

    just watch the fumes and stay away from any sort of fire.

    Gold is a relatively inert material.

    Acetone is as safe as water for coins, just don't get it on anything plastic.

    I've used acetone on gold and it doesn't hurt it.
