Acetone + gold = ??

Is acetone a good cleaner for gold ? will it hurt the gold ?

  • Acetone only affects organic stuff on coins ... it should be harmless to any patina.

    just watch the fumes and stay away from any sort of fire.

    Acetone is as safe as water for coins, just don't get it on anything plastic.

    I've used acetone on gold and it doesn't hurt it.
