textbook vf-30. if it's very lightly cleaned, which it looks like there's some abrasion, i'd only knock it 5 points, becasue your coin's got "the look".

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't 100% sure if had been cleaned, but I went for the look that Dorkkarl is talking about. I figured it was
around a VF 30 and I liked the look. Do you all see hairlines that makes you think it's cleaned?

not really hairlines but parallel scratches

they run from 8 o'clock to 2 o'clock on the photo shown


if you take the coin (when you get it) and look at it near a 30 degree angle and slowly rotate it, you will probably see hundreds of scratches going everywhere


not really hairlines in my thinking ( I consider hairlines as random individual lines mostly on proof fields)

when the lines are parallel - then album slide on device maybe - but if limited to the fields than like someone took steel wool and rubbed it


probably happened long ago as this guy is 170 years old and been held by possibly thousands of people
