Mild Vent...and a little Help for Dealers and Collectors.

Fooey the two slabs I received today had huge Rub Marks/Smudges on them that would not even let you see the coin clearly.

Here is the help for the dealers or any other seller of Slabbed Coins. Invest in a package of these to ship your slabs in. These are really expensive, a buck for 100, but they protect the slab during transit or for storing the slabs. I do not think a package of these will break the Bank Account. Heck if you ever sell me a coin charge me for the slip, I will gladly pay for it.

Here is something I found that will get the darn Rub Marks off from the slab. This is what I use to remove Water Spots from Classic Car windows that have sat in the Weather for years. By far the best stuff I have ever found and it did a great job on the Slabs. If Brasso will not hurt the Slabs or Coins neither will this. Give it a try if you have some laying around.

Hope this will encourage Slab Sellers to protect the slab. Nothing is worse than getting a coin you cannot see.

Take Care.

    Ken,

Thanks for the tip. Ever since I got a coin from you I have been using the slips on my slabbed dimes. They do work great!

    Kudos!

Every person that buys a slabbed coin from me gets a Slip on the coin and Geez I do not charge extra for them. I want the buyer to be able to see the coin...image

They work great when you store your coins in NGC boxes. No rattling around when you carry then to a show. The slip and a ANACS coin will stay put in the NGC box also.

Just a all around good item for protection and noise reduction....image

Those are Sports Card Slips. I guess your local Card Dealer would be a safe bet. If you have any of those guys left in your area. image

Brasso has worked for me - I found that out from Whitlow awhile back - and while one needs to be careful using that - I have never had a problem with it and I don't recall hearing of one.
The most obnoxious thing I can get in the mail is a scratched and muilated slab
