Proof coins toning in dansco already??

I recently just replaced every "to date" coin in my dansco type set with a 1980 proof coin. (my birth year) I just cracked open a proof set that was in awesome shape. They've been in the album just under a week, and every single one of them is slighty gold and purple around the edges. How the hell is that possible?

Sometimes result are seen quickly, other times it does take awhile.....

the Sulfur from the album is reacting with the Silver Surface of the coins.....

and because of the way proofs are prepared, this could set the stage for a faster reaction then normal strikes...

I don't know....... also, if that album is in a warm place, maybe alittle humid, this can speed up the rate of the reactions that are occuring...

Have fun, and heres hoping to some nice tonders for you.....

then maybe you should look into the intercept shiel folders, although some have reported here that those also caused toning...

the intercept shield is suspposedly made of inert materials that will not react with the Silver of the coin.....

However, a contaminant of some sort could already be on the coin prior to placing in these albums...... resulting in toning of some sort..
