Pre-War Identification of Cards

I'm collecting a player who played in the 1930's and 40's and am having difficulty identifying what some cards are.
I went to the Library to see if they had any good reference material, but all that was present was SCG and Beckett Price Books which don't go back that far.
When I check the PSA Board, these older cards most often don't have an icon to show what the cards look like.
I'm talking about Worch Cigar, Batter-Up, Exhibits Four-In-One, Gold Medal Flour, S and S WG8, Clopay Foto-Fun, etc. Does anyone know any good reference material that shows all cards from the 1880's forward for identification purposes?

I have a CD full of card pictures that a pre-war friend of mine compiled. I will see if any of these sets are featured. Are you looking for the particular player's card or just a representative picture?

I have the big Beckett that came out last year. It has every issue from 1888 to present and any regional issue cards that you can imagine. A dealer here in Dallas closed his shop and owed me some money. I took the inventory that was worth something in leiu of payment. These book are brand new and have been shrenked rapped and never used. They retail for $39.95 or 44.95. I have about four of them available if anyone is interested. I will sell them for $25.00 delivered. It is going to cost me about $13 just to mail it. It is heavy.

What's the player's name? Somewhere in the recesses of my copmputer I have a database that would have almost all/maybe all of the cards that he appeared On.

The reference set that would be most helpful are the books that were put together by Lew Lipset about 15 to 20 years ago. They start with n-cards and work their way up. I believe they go to the timeframe that you are looking for. They not only had cards with pictures from sets that no one has ever heard of but also more info about the sets than anyone has ever cared to know. They are THE invaluable reference book set for the early years. They will be hard to find though I suspect. In the mean time, the deal Shane offered seems the way to go.
When you become a champion book finder, please let me know. I have been looking for a long time for a 1989 Topps Archives auciton catalog. Would love to have the help in finding one of those.

The info you need is all in the 2004 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards edited by Bob Lemke. Here are the pages for each:
1933 Worch Cigar: page 538
1934-36 Batter-Up: page 38
Exhibits Four-In-One: page 131, 132, or 133 (there were several years)
1934 Gold Medal Flour: page 158
1936 S and S Game: page 351
1938 Foto-Fun: page 150
Hope that helps,
