Ireland Coins - First Purchases

Hi everyone,

I thought I would start a new thread on the first pruchases I am considering of Irish Coins.

lSPINK Book

Is this price about right?

2000 Millenium Decimal Set

Was this set produced in this packaging or did someone make it up? Is this the general condition of BU coins produced in Ireland (they look a little marked up)? The last set that sold on ebay went for $51, is that about right?

Last, I am looking for a 2002 (first year of issue) set of EURO's in BU condition from someone on ebay or otherwise that will take Paypal and price and shipping is not too high. What is a decent price for these?

All comments and suggestion are welcome,

Larry

The Spink book for English coins I have seen priced between $25-$30 and as high as $45. I am going to assume the price for the Irish Spink catalog you're showing might be a little less.
The packaging looks original; most countries do market their sets with similar packaging.
The images seem a little out of focus and it's not unusual to have marks on the cello, not on the coins.

  • The Irish/Scottish book has an RRP of £5 MORE than the English book. £23.00

  • Hello!

    Regarding the Euros.

Irelands first year of issue was 2002

Here is a great deal on a UNC set: Linky

This is a Spanish Dealer who I've bought from. His prices are very good, and he is a stand up guy who doesn't slam you on shipping. For example this UNC set is only 7,11€ his shipping is 2.25€ and he only asks a 4.5% extra for Paypal. so your cost would be: $12.28 A very good price for a set of 8 UNC Euros. This set will have been built out of coins selected from mint rolls.

Now if you want an official BU set you'll spend a good bit more. Those average about 30€ to 40€ plus shipping when you find them.
