I recently won this and wondered if you agreed with my grade estimate? While it's not the coin I'd like to end up with in my set, I like the date and thought I'd collect the different varieties and upgrade as I go. The color is along the lines of what I'm hoping for and there are no major gouges or rim dings, just a bit too much wear. XF-AU would rock the house!! Any comments? Be nice, I'm new to early copper.

editted to add that there is an overdate at the five which can be seen in the picture and was included in a close-up with the auction. does that add any interest in the coin and how common is that with early Half-Cents??

I agree with you about the xf-au designation.I only collect mint state specimens by date and the competition is more fierce than Lincoln cents.

Looks pretty close to an F12, maybe a bit better. I only have one to compare it against though.
