Warning about an Accented Hair auction that is not an Accented Hair.

The coin pictured in this auction is not the variety. Either the seller got his images mixed up, or NGC blew the designation. As a 68CAM AH, this would normally be a rather pricey coin. As a regular variety, it's worth about $35.

Thanks Russ! A bonehead like me that can't tell an AH from a regular 1964 Kennedy would have been out of luck! Is there are good place to see what the difference is? I know it's got to do with the hair around ear? something that Jackie O wanted changed.

    Thanks,
    Micheál

That's another thing the seller got wrong. He asserts that the variety came in to being subsequent to her protestations. It was actually the first obverse die, and the regular variety is the die that was retooled at her request.

You can bone up on it here.

    Russ,

Thanks for the link to the tutorial. Everytime I think I remember the characteristics I need to look for I forget, and then to make it worse, I forget where the characteristics are explained. This time I booked marked the link.image
