Help me understand the cameo or I should say Deep cameo on this half and quarter. Both the obverses look deep cameo to me but I have questions on how the reverses will affect the grade. Let me know your thoughts. mike

Edited to add: The subdued contrast on the reverses might be due to field haze, can't really tell for sure from the images. If it is, it might be possible to dip them in to DCAM status.

Thanks Russ! That was my next question. I think the half dollar has haze that will dip off but on the lower left of the bell the cameo looks a bit weak. Same with the quarter I think the fields will clear up with a dip but the tail feathers and left wing are weak in the cameo area- will this hold it back from a DCAM designation also? mike

Not necessarily. PCGS will sometimes forgive minor frost fade on a coin with exceptional mirror depth. Although lately they're not forgiving anything on 1950 to 1970 proofs, even when the designation is clearly deserved.
Example:
That coin graded cameo. At a previous time, it would have easily graded DCAM, (and actually DID). After the graders get their heads out, I'll resubmit it.
