Finally nailed one exactly at close! I've had a lot of one second scores, but I think this is my first dead on.

That's good, but IMO, "the perfect snipe" would require both a "0 second" time snipe, but also a "1 cent win". You won by a full bid increment here. You need to work on guessing the current top bidder's hidden mix bid amount, then beat it with a 1 cent win.

That would be "the perfect snipe".

I've got one!I've got one!Well the reverse of one anyhow.I only own one 64 proof Kennedy and it definitely has the straight up G and broken rays but does'nt have the wishbone hair or trunkated I.
I tried to get a decent pic but my scanner won't co-operate.
The good news is now I know what to look for.The bad news is now I have to have one.

I sniped this 1962 Jefferson right at the auction close and did not realize until I was checking to see when the person that tried to out snipe me bid. I was really suprised that I was able to cut it that close to the end without losing the coin.

Wjd283, what you have is a transitional variety (second obverse and the first reverse). It has some value above a regular 64, but is not an AH, as AH would apply to the obverse. Your coin is also doubled on WE TRUST, 64 of the date, and the TY of LIBERTY (light spread). Nice find.
