  • Marty,

I have not had a coin grade as au 58 that I thought was mint state in many years, but back before pcgs got started I learned the hard way.

Still I coudn't spot a dcam proof coin thru celo wrap if my life depended on it.

  • Actually, I have one that made au58. I don't send in the quantity that you do so if I did, I'm sure that I would have more.
I do have coins that graded lower but I knew that they would.

I have lot's of AU-58's, all of which I made. The difference is that you do 20th century and I do 19th century. I have a beautiful 1838 bust half and a gorgeous 1854-O half, both in AU-58.

Seemingly perfect pieces grading as low as 64... (make that 58) ...and butt ugly ones grading 66 & 67image

I have never "made" a coin. The mint does that.

I buy AU58's all the time. The best grade there is when you get the right coin.
