RESULTS:set sale 1964 stand-up all psa 8 nq

well for those that keep tabs on these things i sold 77 1964 topps stand-ups all psa 8
from the first ever complete set on ebay over the past few weeks.two non paying zero
feedbackers notwithstanding the gross sales realized totalled $13,476.with the CU site
down and my smr about 3 months late i cant tell you whether that was better than the
list prices but i suspect the total exceeded SMR.to me the major surprise was several
commons that one couldn't give away a few years back, had one wanted to,did very strongly.
if anyone needs specific sales prices just email thru ebay, user id pc32.i hope all the buyers like the cards
as most were highend and kept from several choices.the stars except koufax were for the
most part soft vs y2k but commons maintained their values.Pops were the key as usual with
little premium added for centering or wax free reverses.given the retailing of the find cards
from mastro's auctions of the past several years i think this set did quite well and i see it
maintaining value to the cards' newest owners.thanks to all for participating and i just might
do this set again.

  • Hey PC,
Just checked on the 66 BB set for the first time in about 100 years and saw that you have now hit 100%. Don't know if this is recent or not but congratulations. That is the first set to make it and one great accomplishment.

    thanks Dave.still need a better 216.have two gai 7s
to crossover but they wont do better than 7.Larry,
i sold a nice Kaline the thing to look for on that card
is top to bottom centering which is often low.good luck,
without white corners on the green surface maybe you can get
    a 9.

    pc...

Went back and looked at that Kaline...Perfect 50/50 all the way around, however, I do see just a touch of white on the lower right corner...

    I'll hope for the best...

    Thanks again...

    pc-
I thought that I would add to this thread to let everyone know that I sold my set about 4 months ago for $17,500 to a collector. About one month ago, I had a gentlement who told me that he would have paid more than that for this set as it was one of his favorites. Sometimes it works out better to break it up on Ebay and other times to sell it as a whole.
