Found a 1972-D Quarter in Change Today.....It Was Uncirculated!
I was shocked to see the bright red copper rims and the superb detail on this uncirculated change find! Usually, these older clads are all worn. It looks like a nice MS65 or so.
Okay.....so it is not a million dollar coin, but still cool just the same.

even in AU and seldom in XF. Most of the clad mint sets can be cut up at a profit even after
the difficult to sell coins are spent. The dimes and quarters and the lower grade halfs and
dollars are especially difficult to sell. Some of the cents and nickels also are difficult to sell.
Now days one has to figure most collectors and dealers are going to seek or hold the gems
from the sets, but the '72-D quarter is an extremely well made issue. It is probably the high-
est average grade for all of the mint set clad quarters and these are generally MS-64 to MS-66.
It is better than the best one I've found in 8 years of checking rolls of circulating quarters. Mine
is a nice very choice coin with a heavy rub. The edges are still shiny.
nice find
