Just flipping through some pages of the Haig A. Koshkarian Collection and oh, my! Looks like another awesome sale with amazing pictures, as well. I hate to say it, but there are even some gorgeous Frankies in the sale!

But I really like some of the rare date gold coins (big surprise)!
Finally, Frankies in a "Classic" sale
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
I'm going to spend quite alot of time going through those high quality coins in that truly "Classic" catalog.
It shows you the tremendous value of a truly choice Collection of coins with similar quality & attributes (toning, etc), and also tells you alot about the type of person who built up that amazing collection of coins...

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the catalogue -- I think it features not only some superb coins, but also some of Doug Placensia's best photographic work yet. For those who didn't get the catalogue, all the photos and descriptions are available online at www.anrcoins.com (which went down yesterday when a cable outside the offices was cut by a utility crew, but could be back as early as today).
To answer an earlier question, all of the pieces from Haig Koshkarian's type set -- even the Bicentennial quarter -- are offered as single lots in order to maintain the integrity of the set. Though these pieces are of modest value, they will give everyone an opportunity to purchase a piece from this important collection.
I hope to see many of you at the sale in Baltimore next month!

Agreed! What a tremendous luxury to be able to crack your coins and display them as you please. It's inspirational!

very true....fabulous read and presentation - I admit after reading thru the catalog today - ANR has indeed done a magnificant job - my compliments to the chef!

I haven't seen his coins in holders yet, but I can tell you two things: his coins are friggin' amazing (I've seen many of them), and the soft NGC plastic obscures a coin's luster ever so slightly.
The first time I saw 'em, I swear I almost had a heart attack. Unbelievable! It's really easy to go ga-ga over raw coins when they are *that* nice!
