a-rod's change of scenery jacking his ebay prices way up

I have seen base cards of his that book for 20 cents selling for up to $10, $15...this move sure has helped his hobby value

everyone says moving to a new team doesn't raise your prices, only performance does...in the case of NYY I would say they help anyone's values

come on Yankees, please trade for Mo Vaughn and Rick Ankiel so I can cash in!!!

A move to a team like the Yankees will certainly generate some short-term buzz, but performance will generally be the ultimate determinant of a card's typical selling price. Look at the '91 Topps Traded Jason Giambi card. In PSA 9, it was about a $10-14 card when he was with Oakland, easily doubled that shortly after he signed with the Yanks and now it's back in the $5-10 range. That said, A-Rod will probably do a better job of living up to lofty expectations than Giambi has thus far.

I know I'm going to be posting my A-Rod doubles as a lot this weekend.

MXRacer, that moon thing cracked me up. I thought I was the only one who liked those Quizno's commercials.
