Congratulations to 1234567890 for providing the first and only correct answer! The answer is 1816 - only the Large Cent was struck that year.
Okay, there will be three winners for this contest. Each winner will receive a 1957 or 1957-D Lincoln Cent PCGS MS65 RB. Sure, it's a cheap coin, but all three of them are attractive and fun to look at. We'll take the first three correct answers, and the winners will choose which coin they want in the order that their answer was received.
RULES: No dealers, please. All answers must be sent via PM. Please do not post any answers here, regardless if you want to participate or not. We will post the correct answer only after the contest is over. Also, we will not respond to any PM's until the contest is over, regardless if you are a winner or not. Only one answer per person - if you send more than one answer, only your first one will be taken. Sorry for all the rules - but we've learned as we've gone how to make these giveaways as fair as possible.
Here's the question (which quite possibly could be worded better, but oh well): From all coinage minted during the 19th and 20th century, which year's complete date set of regular issue coins would consist of the fewest coins?
Good luck!
chris
