1844 half farthing

1844 half farthing- I'd like to know how the slight dig in her cheek and neck affect the overall grade of this coin.
I bought this coin inexpensively and very quickly and only saw the damage when I got home.

They probably wouldn't affect the overall grade of the coin unless it was AU/UNC and being assigned a grade from the Sheldon Scale. Would probably keep it below gEF in european grading. They don't look too bad to me. I wouldn't consider them "damage" per se unless they were obviously caused after leaving the mint or maliciously inflicted. They could be just really heavy bagmarks, an unfortunate result of the whole coining process.

Thanks Civitas- I called bag marks damage which was inappropriate. Bad habit of mine sometimes to grab a cheap coin too quickly only to repent at leisure. For all of that, I consider it a decent enough type coin (at least for the moment).

I like it too. Call the facial abrasions "character"; it's part of the territory.

Are you sure that the mark on her cheek and neck are bag marks? Planchet flaws?
